Fiona Simonian, AMFT
I obtained my M.A. in counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Palo Alto University. I earned my B.A. in sociology from California State University, Northridge.
During my graduate years, I worked at Glendale Unified School District where I worked at elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools with children of all ages. During my time there I was able to gain experience working with a variety of different mental illnesses. I developed a structured program that implemented the fundamentals of empathy, stress management, and social anxiety to help with the reintegration of students who were returning back to campus after COVID.
I am currently working as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Anchor Counseling Group with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I believe that human beings are naturally resilient and equipped to overcome pain, hardship, and despair inherent in living. But, you may not be fully aware of the inner strength and resources that you already possess. My passion is helping you to tap into your abilities to reach your full potential. I utilize an Eclectic approach but feel most connected to Humanistic and Psychoanalytic theoretical orientations. I find a holistic approach to be of the most value to my clients and will tailor treatment to each individual based on their specific presenting issues and needs. I was born and raised in Glendale, CA and I am fluent in both English and Armenian.
