Madlen Ghookasi, ACSW
I hold a Master's degree in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles. Throughout my graduate studies, I gained practical experience working with adolescents facing various psychosocial challenges at institutions such as Glendale & Los Angeles Unified School District, Rosemary Family Services, and Youth Build Charter High School.
After completing my degree, I worked at Suicide Prevention Center where I provided support to individuals struggling with a range of mental health issues including but not limited to Depression, Anxiety, and suicidal ideation. In addition, my passion lies in helping couples strengthen their relationships and overcome challenges together.
My approach to therapy is centered on creating a safe and empathetic environment that fosters collaboration and growth. I am dedicated to helping you discover the strengths within your struggles and transform your past experiences into a source of resilience. I believe that your history does not define you, and I am here to support you in redefining your self-perception and finding your purpose in life.
I recognize that life can be challenging, and it can be difficult to navigate problems alone. As your therapist, I am committed to helping you own your story, identify your strengths, and find the motivation to overcome obstacles and lead a fulfilling life.
My therapeutic approach incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Motivational Interviewing to address issues such as Depression, Anxiety, immigration, relationship challenges, self development, grief and loss.
I am fluent in English, Armenian, and Farsi, and it would be my privilege to accompany you on your journey of growth and healing as we work together towards achieving your treatment goals.
